The Minor soccer team had their first round of the Munster Cup today against St. Colman’s Community College Midleton.
The game was a fierce competitionand thankfully the resultwas a 2-1 victory in favour of Regina Mundi College. The game was highly entertaining and both teams were well-matched. The team went down 1-0 in the middle of the first half until Chloe Murray equalised from the edge of the box just before half-time. The game continued to be end-to-end. This was until Rose Davis found herself through on goal and her finish was an unbeatable shot into the right of the net. The team withstood opposition pressure to remain victorious. The girls played in miserable weather on a very mucky pitch. The conditions were not ideal but the girls showed no hesitation in running (or sliding) around. The most admirable part of the performance was the teams willingness to continue fighting and running for every ball. Their determination and courage won them the game. Well done girls!
