Choir
Choral Music is firmly embedded in the culture of Regina Mundi College. It is highly valued by the school management, parents, teachers and students themselves. Students are very giving of their time to rehearse ,with practices taking place before school, during lunch and after school on Fridays. We currently have 65 members in the choir under the direction of Ms O’ Neill. Here we have an open door policy. If you have a love of singing and making music with others you are more than welcome to attend. We sing repertoire ranging from TLC to Eric Whitacre and everything in-between!
Regina Mundi College choirs have been very successful in many competitions throughout the years, Feis Maitiu, The Cork Choral Festival and the All Island School Choir Competition to mention but a few. In 2023 the choir took first place in Feis Maitiu class 82. They have liaised with Irish National Opera and performed an aria in the lobby of the Everyman theatre. In September ’23 they had the enriching experience of travelling to London to see Les Miserables in The Sondheim Theatre.
The choir regularly perform at school events, Open night, School Masses, Graduation Ceremonies and Celebration of Excellence.
The annual Carols by Candlelight concert in an intimate platform for the students to showcase their talents with a diverse repertoire of sacred and secular Christmas Music.
