Minor soccer team

Our minor Soccer team played St. Peter’s Passage West in thrilling game yesterday. 

With both teams cancelling each other out in the first half, 0-0 score at halftime was fair. 

The girls played some lovely football and after a nice move started from the back, worked up the left side and coolly finished by Rose Davis. Passage then applied the pressure and was rewarded with a goal with a few minutes to go. 

The girls moved into the extra time period with a few late chances and they got a wonderful goal from Mia Quille to put Regina 2-1 up. Unfortunately with 90 seconds on the clock Passage got an equaliser to put the game to penalties. Congratulations to all our penalty takers Chloe Murphy, Poppy Lynch, Rose Davis, Layla Hogan O’Connell and Emma Davis for stepping up under pressure to take one. Also, congratulations to Tara Murphy in goal who saved a penalty. Overall Regina won 4-3 on penalties and move onto the next round.
