This week kicked off the start of the Munster schools tennis competition. This year we have 5 teams competing over 3 age groups.
First up on Wednesday we had the U14 green team who had a fantastic 4 – 0 win over St Marys of Mallow. Players on the day were : Mia Doyle, Emily O Connell, Isabel Sheehan, Sophie Sheehan.
Our U16 Red travelled away to St Augustines Dungarvan on Wednesday and came away with a hard fought 3 -1 win. Two of the matches were won in championship tiebreaks with the girls showing great nerve. Players on the day : Amber Wyse, Olivia Wyse, Maisie Fairbairn, Kate Quinlan.
On Thursday, the U14 purple team travelled to north Tipperary to face a very good Borrisokane team. The girls Battled it out for nearly 4 hours and came away with a fantastic 3 -2 win. Players on the day : Aoife Dooley, Kathryn McKiernan, Leah Kirby, Alicia Moore.
Also, on Thursday our U16 white team played a very good St Angelas team. Our girls came away with a great 4 – 0 win in close contested matches.
Up next week we see our U19 team start their campaign. Well done to all our teams and a massive thank you to the parents and staff who helped with facilitating these matches.
