The Senior Soccer team embarked on the long arduous journey to West Cork this morning for a Munster Cup clash with MICC Dunmanway.
This was their first outing of the year and unfortunately, it did not result in a victory. The game finished 3-2 to the home side.
RMC proceeded to take the lead with a fantastic goal from Fiona O’ Connell. Only to concede a penalty which drew the teams level. However, our girls had the lead going into half time thanks to a clinical goal from Faye Hanratty.
Despite the tireless efforts from the team, we conceded a further two goals which ultimately lost us the match but the team continued to push for an equaliser and they came agonisingly close.
Overall, the team was quite unlucky to not get the result they hoped for but they can now look on towards their fixtures in the local cup as a consolation. Well done girls!
