As the 5th years return to school, we are left to reflect on a successful, strenuous and satisfying trip.
The students soaked in their last precious hours on the slopes over the previous few days. The last few days came and went in a similar fashion to the previous ones. Students grew in confidence and refined their skills more and more. Every student worked their way up to the stage where they could competently descend a red slope with poise and control. The girls were then left with a lovely keepsake from their instructors which was a grading card with their new-found skiing ability on it.
An early call time of 5am Saturday morning was on the agenda for the students as we proceeded to travel to Milan for our flight back to Dublin. From there, we boarded our bus back to the real capital.
Over the last week, relationships have formed, personalities have been built and characters have been refined. For those who struggled to keep their eyes open on the bus, a return to their beds was longed for. For others who have immensely enjoyed skiing, another day on the slopes is wished for. However, for all 5th year students, a hasty return to their academia is, of course, unanimously anticipated by all.
We hope that even though the week has flashed by, the memories that were made will be etched in their minds indefinitely.
